For the first time ever, The Making Moves Market is coming to Melbourne's Abbotsford Convent for one day only.
On Sunday 20 September 2026, Broadsheet and Australia Post will bring together 50 Australian small businesses (including Berre skincare) across fashion, beauty, food, homewares and lifestyle, alongside kids' activities, food, free coffee and live entertainment.
Entry is free, and no ticket or registration is required. If you're planning a visit, here's what to know before you go.
Making Moves Market 2026 - Date, time and location

The market will take place inside the historic Abbotsford Convent, around four kilometres from Melbourne CBD beside the Yarra River and next to Collingwood Children's Farm.
Getting to Abbotsford Convent
Public transport
Victoria Park Station is the closest train station and is served by the Mernda and Hurstbridge lines.
The 200 and 207 buses run along Johnston Street, while trams along Victoria Street provide another option, followed by approximately a 15-minute walk.
Sunday services can vary, so check Public Transport Victoria before travelling.
Parking
Paid all-day parking is available directly opposite the Convent on St Heliers Street.
Parking machines don't accept cash, so bring a card or use a supported payment app. Most surrounding residential streets are permit-restricted.
Accessibility, prams and dogs
The main market areas are accessible, with wheelchair access via the Main Gate on St Heliers Street. Accessible and ambulant toilets are available, as well as male, female and all-gender facilities.
Prams are welcome, although some paths around the heritage site are uneven.
Dogs are generally welcome on leads in the Convent grounds but aren't permitted inside the buildings where most of the market is held. Check the current Abbotsford Convent guidelines if you're planning to bring your dog.
What to expect on the day
The market brings together 50 Australian small businesses across fashion, beauty and skincare, homewares, ceramics, food, jewellery and lifestyle.
There will also be:
- Free coffee courtesy of Australia Post
- Food trucks
- Live entertainment
- A dedicated kids zone featuring face painting, glitter tattoos and colouring
- A quiet space
- First aid
- Toilets and running water
It's designed to be a day out rather than simply a shopping event, making it particularly easy to visit with children. Collingwood Children's Farm is also right next door.
What if it rains?
The event will go ahead in wet weather. Most of the market is under cover inside the Convent buildings, with alternative indoor arrangements for areas affected by poor weather.
Berre at Making Moves Market

Why Berre takes a different approach to natural skincare
