1 in 10 Australian infants will develop a food allergy in their first 12 months of life.

Allergy & Anaphylaxis Australia state that applying skincare products that include food ingredients to a baby's skin can lead to the development of a food allergy. 

The recommendation for allergy prevention is to avoid applying any skincare products that contain common allergens and food-based ingredients on babies skin, especially those with sensitive, inflammatory skin or eczema.

This includes common food allergens such as nuts, oats, goat’s milk, etc. as well as food products including olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, nut oils (including almond kernel oil, mango seed butter, shea butter) and tallow (the rendered fat of cows and sheep) that are currently contained in many baby skincare products in the Australian market, even those deemed 'natural'.

We encourage you to carefully read the ingredients list of all skincare products your baby comes into contact with.
